Patty Fletcher….an Oklahoma native and long-time San Antonio resident has been styling hair for over 20 years! Most of those years have been as a self-employed stylist who wouldn’t have it any other way.
“This was really a second career…..I had been doing my friends hair for years and finally figured out that I was more passionate about this than what I had been doing.” Patty went on to explain that “I had been in the real estate business for a long time and had too many bad haircuts. At the age of 40 of decided it was time for a change.”
“I enrolled in beauty school and quickly realized that I had more to learn…so I immediately began training with Tony and Guy Hairdressing Academy and took classes any time I had a chance.” Within two years I was a successful booth-renter at a very nice salon.”
Patty went on to say that she spent those early years building a steady clientele. “My secret was to make sure I was available whenever my new clients needed me….over time they were hooked in and I could readjust my schedule so it worked for both us.”
Patty transitioned over into owning her own salon suite when the concept came to San Antonio over ten years ago. “It was a great transition for me, but I was not happy with how they ran the suite business”…Patty explained. In 2007 Patty came over to Salons by JC at the Legacy location and has really enjoyed her time there. “I love it here because it’s a great location and because the owners understand I don’t want to be micro-managed!”
“This is my business….so I run it the way I want to and work the hours that are convenient for me and for my clients.” Patty added that “I am a creative person so I have changed the way my room looks several times. I have even moved 3 times because my clients and I have needed a change.”
Over the years Patty has really appreciated the business relationships she has developed at Salons by JC and has come to cherish each and every one of her clients. “I have been taking care of some of my clients for 20 years…many of them didn’t even realize I was new. All these years later we have come to depend on each other and have built long-lasting friendships.”
